Virginia Trucking Jobs

If you are looking to pick up a trucking job that stays within the state of Virginia, you only need to be 18 years old. If you are looking to pick up a job that requires you to cross state lines or carry hazardous materials, you are going to need to be 21 years old.

These basic Virginia CDL requirements are similar throughout the nation. As in other states, you will be expected to provide 2 different pieces of proof of identity and proof of a social security number. Virginia takes it one step further by requesting that you provide proof of residency in the state and proof of legal residency in the country. Those who manage to provide these pieces of Virginia licensing information will then be asked to take both a written knowledge test and a driving skills test, with each challenging their knowledge of truck driving in general.
